The WBMA Board of Directors has changed over time based on the needs of the WBMC and our member clubs. Offices are indicated in the year started. Any previous offices were held through the WBMC held that year.
At the 2017 WBMA meeting in Austin, The Fellowship of the Beard New Zealand (represented by Ygnacio Cervio) won their bid to host the 2021 WBMC. Several months later, the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Due to border protocols in place in New Zealand, the 2021 WBMC was delayed until 2023, and after further travel complications, they withdrew their bid in February of 2022.
With New Zealand's WBMC initially pushed to 2023, original hosts of the 2023 WBMC, the Wessex Beardsmen (represented by Andy Teague), were correspondingly delayed until 2025.
Though with the withdrawal of New Zealand as a host in February 2022, they were unable to regroup early for 2023, so a new vote among WBMA members was held.
By April 2022, the Ostbayerischer Bart- und Schnauzerclub (represented by Christian Feicht) won their bid to hold the 2023 WBMC in Burghausen, Germany a mere 13 months later.
In June 2022, the Wessex Beardsmen withdrew their bid for the 2025 WBMC. After consulting with the WBMA Board, the second ranked bid for was awarded to the Mad Viking Beard Club of Pennsylvania (represented by Jason Sealand) that December. Thankfully that was the last of the lingering disruptions.
